Our relationship comes first.
The key to success in your therapy is not the type of treatment but the strength of your relationship with your therapist. With that in mind, I’ll tailor my approach to your therapy based on my understanding of your or your child’s unique needs. After that, we'll work together to establish your therapeutic goals and to craft a plan to help meet them as quickly as possible. My objective is always for my clients to no longer need therapy.
Adults
My integrative approach to individual mental healthcare cuts across modalities but is centered in cognitive behavioral therapy. That means that I will help you to understand the relationships between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, so you can better exert control in those relationships to allow you to be your best self.
Children
Therapy with children is as much about play as it is about work, so at my practice, I have a separate therapy room for kids –– a welcoming, colorful space loaded with toys, games, and art supplies. I request that parents or caretakers become an active participant in every child’s therapy, because so much of a child’s well being is tied to their attachment figures.
Teens
My success working with teens comes from my willingness to meet them where they’re at developmentally. Teens who ready to experiment with adulthood get that chance with me through empowerment and confidentiality in a safe environment with secure boundaries.
Couples and Families
I take a structural approach with family therapy clients, helping each family member to understand how the roles and patterns the family has constructed might inhibit healthy functioning.
My work with couples focuses on repairing unhealthy patterns while uncovering the unmet emotional needs of each partner.
