About Seth

I have been a practicing psychotherapist in the Los Angeles area since 2019, currently living and working in Long Beach. I am committed to making therapy available to everyone, so in addition to my private practice, I am a clinical specialist at Richstone Family Center, a community mental health agency in Hawthorne, CA. There, aside from working with individuals and families in need, my experience includes facilitating groups for anger management, stress management, and domestic violence prevention.

I began my mental health career in suicide prevention, spending four years as a supervisor of crisis counselors on the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. For three years I taught Research Methods for Behavioral Health Professionals at Pepperdine University.

My own journey into the field of mental health care began as a client when, at age 35, I experienced a personal crisis and learned that I had lived my entire life with undiagnosed OCD. I wrote about that experience in an essay that became a touchpoint for other persons with OCD.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent 20 years as a writer and creative professional in the film and television industry. I am still passionate about movies and will often speak to you in metaphors. I am always happy to show you photos of my dog, Toby.
